MAYWEATHER NEW CHAMPION

LAS VEGAS.- Floyd Mayweather Jr. made good bets tonight when he defeated by unanimous decision Miguel Cotto, he was proclaimed as the champion of the super welterweight title of the World Boxing Association in a fight that lasted 12 rounds.
This fight was the last one of “Kings of the Ring”, an event that took place at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas Nevada with sold-out locations.
Mayweather Jr. of 35 years old, dominated 9 of the 12 rounds and his speed, a natural state of him, was too much for Cotto who started still and when he finally let go, he gained some points but not enough to top Mayweather.
The accomplishment of Cotto was to end the fight on his feet and without a knockout at the 11th round when Mayweather hit him and his legs were shaking.
During the promotion of the fight, Mayweather Jr. always showed respect for Cotto, his only goal was to conclude the fight that he knew was a piece of cake since the first round.
This is the eight world tittle for Mayweather on five different categories and he also accomplished 32 million dollars on bets for him. With this fight, his persona score is 43-0 with 26 knockouts.
The strategy of Mayweather was the same as always : he was invisible when he wanted, he used his hand on key moments and his mobility, reaction and class appeared superior to Cotto who was well prepared physically but lacked a strategy to perform.
The judged didn’t doubt on give the win to Mayweather with points as118-110, 117-111 and117-111.
Mayweather Jr said to Cotto “You are a great champion, you have been my toughest rival".
On the previous fight, all eyes were on Shane Mosley who lost against the Mexican Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez, also a winner by unanimous decision. Their fight lasted 12 rounds and Canelo Álvarez kept his world title in the category of Middle Junior Weight at the World Boxing Association.

On the other hand, Roberto Mancini’s Man City is aiming for something much higher. After a recent win against their contenders at the top of the table, Manchester United, City has managed to plug the gap of eight points from a couple of weeks ago. A victory for City will take them so much closer to their first Premier League title since 1960.
Mancini declared the Newcastle game to be their hardest game, even harder than the United game. Mancini maintains that Man United is still the favorite, keeping in mind the recent Newcastle form. Newcastle have won seven of their last eight matches.
Magpies’ Papiss Cisse, who was signed in January and has since scored 13 goals in 14 matches, would be Newcastle’s man. His last two at Stamford Bridge have put all eyes on him for this game.
For City, it has to be Yaya Toure. His dazzling midfield performance in the Manchester derby and his penetrating runs are vital in the way that City plays.
